For the past 2–3 weeks, I kind of… disappeared.
Not in a dramatic way. Not even intentionally. Just slowly… quietly.
At first, it felt like I was just taking a break. And then at some point, it stopped feeling like a break and started feeling like I just couldn’t get myself to come back.
I was overwhelmed, overworked, and constantly in that mode of “okay just push through this and then you’ll rest.”
Except… I never got to the rest part.
And then my body just went, yeah no, we’re done here.
No focus. No motivation. No energy to even care about things I usually love doing.
And I think that’s the part no one really explains properly:
Burnout doesn’t always feel like being tired. Sometimes it just feels like you’ve disconnected from yourself.
What I thought vs what was actually happening
I kept telling myself, “I just need to try harder.”
But the reality was… I had already pushed past the point where trying harder would help.
So what changed?
Honestly? Nothing big.
No sudden “I’ve figured everything out” moment. No perfect routine. No glow-up reset.
Just one quiet decision:
I’m not going to try to catch up. I’m just going to start again.
- What I worked on today
Instead of forcing myself to be productive in the usual way, I just… fixed things.
Small things.
- Cleaned up my homepage so it actually makes sense
- Redesigned my post cards so they’re easier to read
- Fixed random CSS issues that were making everything look off
- Made the “Start Here” section feel like an actual starting point
Nothing huge. No big features. Just… better foundations.
And weirdly, that’s what brought me back.
What this means going forward
This doesn’t feel like a comeback.
It feels like a reset.
A quieter, more intentional way of working.
I’m picking things back up slowly:
- continuing the sci-fi breakdown series
- exploring content creation on Instagram
- and wrapping up this phase as the last series under Notes From a B.Tech Brain
Not because I’m done.
Just because I’m growing out of what it was… into what it can become next.
If you’ve been feeling stuck too
Maybe you don’t need a big plan right now.
Maybe you just need to:
- stop forcing it
- fix one small thing
- and let yourself come back at your own pace
I didn’t bounce back.
I just… came back.
And honestly, right now - that feels like enough. 🤍
